Privacy policy

OROA Canada ("OROA", "we", "us") operates this pre-launch website at drinkoroa.ca and drinkoroa.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the site, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and send commercial email in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
What we collect
We only collect what you type into one of the two forms on this site.
- Waitlist form: your first name, email address, optional postal code, and which product platform interests you most.
- Retailer form: your business name, city, business type and email address.
Alongside those entries we store the page the form was submitted from, your browser's user-agent string, and a salted one-way hash of your IP address. The hash lets us detect automated abuse; it cannot be reversed back into your IP address.
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across other websites.
Why we collect it
- To send you launch updates, tasting invitations and launch-day retail locations that you asked for.
- To arrange product sampling and follow-up with retailers, gyms and cafés.
- To understand which regions and which product platforms have the most interest, so we can plan our pilot.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
Your consent, and how to withdraw it
Submitting a form is your express consent to receive OROA email about the launch. You can withdraw that consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message we send, or by emailing hello@drinkoroa.ca. Withdrawing consent stops further commercial email; it does not affect messages we already sent.
Where it is stored
Form submissions are stored in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database and this site is hosted on Netlify. Both providers may process or store data on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States, which means that data may be accessible to foreign courts and law enforcement under the laws of those jurisdictions. Access to the database is restricted to OROA personnel who need it.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist and retailer records until the launch programme they relate to is complete, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. If you unsubscribe we retain the minimum record needed to honour that request.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. Write to hello@drinkoroa.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and revise the date above. Material changes affecting email you already consented to will be communicated by email.
